Grace's Bio

For as long as I can remember, I’ve looked up at the night sky and been full of an emotion that took me a long time to put a name to. That feeling- was wonder, curiosity, excitement, and passion all mixed together.
As a little girl, I knew someday I wanted to have a career in the Astronomy field, but had little knowledge of how to make it happen. For a long time I thought I would need nothing less than straight A’s, a flawless record, and to never make a mistake. I quickly realized that this was not the case! I make mistakes, I don’t always get a perfect grade, and sometimes I forget the simple things. What matters is the passion that one has for their choice of career! 
I’ve put in years of hard work and am finally seeing it pay off- I’m on track to get my Master’s! I’m currently studying in Wales, which has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl! Moving from California to Wales was a big decision, but one I’d do time & time again for the chance to get the education that I have had the privilege of getting. This year, I have had the amazing opportunity to work here at NOVA as the Chief Marketing Officer.

At NOVA, I manage the social media portfolio and work with the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operations Officer to create amazing new ideas to put NOVA in the spotlight. This allows me to dip into skills areas I hadn’t previously, like creating an entire brand image that can be recognized with a glance, and managing multiple platforms at once. Sometimes this can look like a quick meeting with the other department leads to discuss short term goals, or long brainstorming sessions to plan things months (or years!) in advance. No day is the same, and I love this organization that much more for that!
